FAQ
You Asked, We Answered
Do you offer local delivery?
We offer $7 delivery in metropolitan Adelaide! This will be automatically applied when you enter your eligible postcode during checkout. You can also opt to pickup from Norwood, SA on a Weekday 10am-4pm once your order is ready, if you would like.
Shipping and Processing
CHRISTMAS 2023
The cut-off for Christmas orders this year is November 20th, due to the postal system's cut-off dates (which still does not guarantee delivery in time for Christmas). Orders can still be placed after this, however there is less of a chance that they will arrive in time.
Please be aware when ordering that there is a processing time of up to 21 days as all products are made to order. We understand that this may seem annoying but we do it to guarantee you receive the freshest products possible. If you need an item shipped sooner than the 21 day time frame please message me first so that I can ensure I have the supplies to do this before you place your order. Custom orders will not be made until payment is received. There is currently a 6-week processing time for custom perfumes as they take that long to be ready. There may also be a delay with your order if you select a scent that is not in stock.
We use carbon neutral shipping because we believe that sending a parcel shouldn’t cost the Earth. We offer shipping worldwide!
Returns and Refunds
Our returns and refunds information can be found here.
Do you do gifts?
We are absolutely more than happy to organise gifts! All orders are packaged with love and care, suitable for gifting. If you would like a gift message or personalisation, simply add these instructions in the notes section at checkout. Our custom candles make the perfect gift.
Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
We try to be as eco-friendly as possible with our shipping packaging. We use boxes and labels that can be recycled, and padding that has often been recycled and is recyclable. The only time we will use any form of plastic in our padding, such as bubblewrap, is if we have received it in our orders from suppliers, and then are re-using it for your orders. We feel that this is a less wasteful option than simply throwing it away. If your order is posted in a satchel, rest easy knowing the satchels are made of 50% recycled content.
Custom Orders
We offer custom orders of candles, wax melts, perfumes, linen sprays, room sprays, and more. This means that you can pick the fragrance that your item comes in. Candles offer the most customisation options, with crystals being able to be added along with choosing the colour, sparkles, box, and label name if you want. Custom orders will not be made until payment is received, and they are not eligible for refunds or returns unless they arrive broken. There is currently a 6-week processing time for custom perfumes as they take that long be ready.
I received something extra in my order?
We often like to give customers a little something-something to say thank you for the order! If you would not like to receive a free gift, please just let us know in the order notes at checkout. Also, all bath mixes come with a free muslin bag that you can use if you do not want to put the ingredients straight into the tub (helps with cleanup).
How will I know which scent I'll like?
We know that scents are very personal, so we have tried to cater for this in two ways. The first way is that underneath each candle description there is a link to a page which goes in-depth into every scent available, including the top, middle, and base notes. Secondly, we are more than happy to send you a single free tea-light candle in the scent of your choosing with your order. Simply write us a note at checkout and we'll send it out with your purchase! Lastly, you are more than welcome to message us to ask about any particular scents, or for suggestions!
What are up-cycled products?
Up-cycled products are when we have occasionally used thrifted containers to hold our products. For example, we may use glass jar containers we find at op-shops for candles, however they are always thoroughly checked and cleaned. We will always clearly label if an item is in an up-cycled container. Although it doesn't make up majority of our supply, we still find this to be an eco-friendly way to reduce and re-use secondhand items without them going to waste.
What do you mean by allergy considerations and vegan alterations?
We are more than happy to cater to your needs if you have allergies to our ingredients, or are vegan. This is done by either removing or substituting the specific ingredient. Sadly we cannot offer this for all products, however we do try our best to accommodate wherever possible. One product where we can, for example, is our bath-wares range; any of our bath salts, bath teas, or milk bath mixes can be modified to suit your needs. Please just leave us a note at checkout, or feel free to email us if you have any further questions or concerns.
How do you collect your botanicals?
Many of our botanicals/flowers are collected through sustainable wild-crafting, which means we only gather what we need and leave enough to not disturb the ecological system (nor the bees). We also grow a lot of our herbs and florals at our home garden. We have chosen these methods of collecting as it ensures us that no chemicals, bug sprays, preservatives, or other nasties were used on the plants as we do not want this going onto your skin.
Why do you use amber glass?
We like to use amber glass as much as possible because it has many benefits. It is the best option for storing majority of cosmetic products as not only is it environmentally friendly, but it’s also hydrolytic-resistant, and helps filter both UV and blue light. Amber glass protects acids, alkalis, and other caustic or light-sensitive materials from losing strength, or changing composition. We love how it protects your product while being sustainable and reducing our carbon footprint.
What are imperfect items?
We're human just like you, which means sometimes we make mistakes or things go wrong. However, we try to create as little waste as possible, so we have decided to still sell products that are imperfect for a lower price. They will be clearly marked as imperfect, but they will still definitely be usable. There are no returns or refunds on these items.
What do you mean by natural?
Where possible we always try to use natural ingredients as it is a core value here at S&S. All of our bath-wares use natural ingredients, including the salts and the scents. We have also tried to create our candles to be as natural, eco-friendly and sustainable as possible. The candles are made from paraffin-free, 100% vegetable-based soy wax which is kosher certified and vegan-friendly. The labels and boxes are made of recyclable paper/cardboard, and the wicks are made from natural cotton fibres with a paper core and are zinc and lead free, as well as acid resistant. The lids are a black pine wooden lid, made from natural wood (not MDF ply wood) and are a high quality, renewable and sustainable product. The lids are coated with a non-toxic, environmentally friendly hydro-based lacquer. A silicone seal ensures a tight fit onto the candle glass. The glassware is dishwasher safe so you can continue to use it well after your candle is finished.
Are the skin products safe for pregnant women?
All products are made following essential oil derma limits, however some essential oils are not recommended for use during pregnancy. Always check with your doctor before use.
Do you offer discreet packaging?
Yes! We are more than happy to send your package discreetly with no exterior details of our store, please just leave us a note. Also if you go by something other than the name you were given at birth, we are always happy to make the personalisation out to your true name, even if you need to have the exterior of your package be addressed to your deadname or initial. Just let us know what you need in the notes section!
